A document -holder- style briefcase with zip...
A rounded back...
Too much hair gel...
One of those awful creamy coloured long mac's with the back vent...
When standing at the back of the hall; hands clasped in front of 'zip area'..(standard witness male adolecent stance)
A highlighter pen in florescent yellow...
A soft- backed NWT...
A steadily blossoming air of male superiority...

Coming Out; A Question.
by Englishman in.
i'm intrigued to see that prisca has decided to "come out" and posted her real pic, (even her car has turned up in a post by stephanaus).
termite has said "sod 'em all" with the result that her titian locks are visible in umpteen posts, and li'l toe put up his pic right from day one.. my question (to everyone) is this: do you feel that revealing your real identity on this site is an essential part of your departure from the religion of jehovah's witnesses, or do you feel that it doesn't make any difference to your personal growth whether or not you ever reveal who you really are?.

WHY ARE YOU HERE?
by jst2laws injoy2bfree and i have so enjoyed meeting over 70 of the posters here on jwd in the last few months.
this has brought us even closer to many, yet the things i learned about each made me even more concerned about others here.
i hope each is getting what they need from this cyberpub we visit.

J2Laws; you are a lovely man;I really enjoyed meeting you and Joy2b;You gave me much to think about.
I am SO sorry to hear about your brother;that must be so hard- I nearly lost mine and that was the worst time of my life.
I come here to learn how to think again- you get out of practice when it's put in front of you on a plate each week;
to assure myself that i'll be ok;
to learn from others how to reach out in a constructive way-so we can all have a hand in helping eachother;
to keep up to date with information that simply is'nt anywhere else, but on the net;
and to find ones I know who've left-still looking....
oh yes, and to get my moneys worth from freeserve and to meet men with lovely accents- ALL those I met had them...!

Hi Eman;
It was quite diffficult to decide to have my pic. posted as I was determined to stay anomymous ; but it was only after the BBQ that I decided to say 'Sod them' and let my pic be posted.
I'm sure some I know are lurking here- everyone knows me by my hair- If they confront me about being here ; i'll know where they've been , won't I ?!
But at least then i'll know who would like some help or support.I've had one very strange conversation already-which I am following up on this week.
At first I did'nt want to be recognised as being considered spiritually weak and speaking of the UN and Paedophile issues to all and sundry was my only crime.But I came to realise that they can only have authority over your life if you allow them to.I have no family in, which may have affected my judgement.I have been back and deleted some posts that convey too much personnal info though; not identifying info- just personnal stuff that you do sometimes when you feel the need to-and at least on Simons site you're in control in that regard.
The Panorama programme made me realise that the only way to rid the WTBS of their most serious problems is for people to show that they arn't afraid of the system that's in place at the moment.It's the psycological hold they have over their members that makes them so dangerous. The paedophile problem is made so much worse, and even possible due to the secrecy and the fear of speaking out or identifying your self with a problem within the cong.When I think of all the times I kept quiet as I was afraid of what they would think of me- I wish I could turn the clock back.
When the problems I had with the elder who sexually harrassed women and stole from my husband were being 'sorted out'(ha ha)I was asked not to mention it in front of others as it may STUMBLE them or cause divisions in the cong and I did'nt- well, not to many anyway(!) Now I'll tell all who ask.
So no; I don't mind my pic being posted- it's very liberating and lets people who visit see that we don't have horns and are happy!

Should JESUS be worshipped or prayed to?
by LittleToe ini want to consider this point, free from the trinity / arian debate.
there have been an abundance of threads that have deteriorated into these doctrine, and it clouds this issue because tempers get raised.. so, please, can we keep it simple.
should jesus receive our worship, right here, right now?.

Hi LittltToe;
IMHO; No.
He said himself you should pray 'this' way....
I'll assume he knew what he was talking about!

I hate being a phoney!
by Matty ini need a vent guys, i hope you all don't mind!
i'm not sure what has happened to me today of all days, but i just can't fight back the tears.
i guess it must be the pretence fatigue kicking in.

Matty,just to let you knothat i'm thinking of you; the advice to get your network of friends in place is one that works really well; and in the position you're in, you have time to exit carefully and well.Those first few days/weeks will be the hardest-but you know that; and you also know that we'll all be here for those and all the rest.
But we're no substitute for physical friendship- we're all so scattered-join something and the rest will slot into place,i'm sure.
Or head for the NE or the SW ; it's not just a dream.you CAN live a good life in Apostate Paradise on earth !!
(I've mailed you too)

Romance status
by Crystal injust curious as to who is single and who is not on this board.i have been with my boyfriend going on 3 years now.
we just moved in together in feb.for the most part we get along great but he has some weird habits.he also thinks i spend too much time on this site(which i do...but heck i finally belong!!
)so its hard to relate to him on the subject.he thinks i should just forget about it.sometimes i think i might be better off with someone who has more or less been where i have.

Status ? !
Separated; (by two staircases)
He's physically on the sofa and mentally deranged.
I ,on the other hand, am happy and enjoying the company of a warm and all enveloping duvet who dos'nt mind what I once believed.
